Easystore and Elements are the same drive under different stickers. At 12 TB and above, you get WD white-label CMR drives — typically helium, 7200-class units, the same NAS-grade mechanisms WD sells under its own labels. The exact model varies by capacity and manufacture date.

How to shuck a WD Easystore

Identical to the Elements: the enclosure is clip-held with no screws — pry it open along the seam and unplug the USB-to-SATA bridge.
